IGA governs access, while single sign-on (SSO) simplifies authentication across applications.
SSO lets users authenticate through a common identity provider and reach connected services without entering separate credentials. IGA determines who is eligible for those services, manages access requests and lifecycle changes, reviews entitlements and records evidence. SSO can centralize sign-in, but it does not prove that a user should have application access or that obsolete access was removed.
