Identity Proofing

Identity proofing verifies evidence to establish that an applicant is the real-world person they claim to be.

Identity proofing is the process of collecting and verifying evidence to establish that an applicant is the real-world person they claim to be before or during enrollment. Proofing is distinct from later authentication, which verifies control of an authenticator associated with the enrolled identity.

In workforce IGA, proofing quality affects the trustworthiness of every account and access decision linked to that identity.
