Recertification is the repeat confirmation that existing access remains appropriate.

Recertification is the repeat confirmation that existing access remains appropriate. The term is often used interchangeably with periodic access certification, although it emphasizes that access was previously approved and is being validated again.

Recertification should not simply reproduce the prior decision. Reviewers need current job, ownership, usage, risk and policy context, with clear removal follow-through.
