Role Mining

Role mining analyzes existing access and identity attributes to find patterns that may become governed roles.

Role mining is the analysis of existing identity-to-entitlement assignments and related attributes to discover patterns that may become roles or improve an existing role model. Techniques include clustering, frequent-pattern analysis and peer-group comparison.

Mining produces candidates, not approved business roles. Owners must validate purpose, membership, risk, exceptions and policy before implementation.
