Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML)

SAML is an XML-based standard for exchanging authentication, attribute and authorization information between trusted parties.

Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML) is an OASIS XML-based standard for exchanging authentication, attribute and authorization information between trusted parties. It is widely used for enterprise federation and browser-based single sign-on.

SAML communicates assertions; it does not replace governance. IGA manages lifecycle, eligibility, attribute quality and the access assignments that determine who may reach a SAML-enabled service.
