A technical role is a reusable bundle of system-specific entitlements, such as database read permissions, application operator rights or membership in several related groups. Technical roles are often contained within broader business roles.
They reduce duplicate assignment logic, but their technical contents still need a business description, owner, risk rating and lifecycle. Some organizations call them IT roles or application roles.
